Your Step-by-Step Guide

Follow the steps below to submit a complete application. Applications are assessed in order of receipt — early submission is encouraged to secure your preferred intake.

Before You Begin
Check Your Eligibility

Review the admission requirements for your chosen programme to confirm you meet the academic and English language entry criteria before starting your application.

MIT requires a bachelor's degree in IT or related field (AQF Level 7) with a minimum GPA of 5.0 / 7.0, or a degree in any discipline plus 2 years IT work experience.
GDIT and GCIT accept bachelor's degrees in any discipline — check the minimum GPA requirements per programme.
English proficiency: minimum IELTS 6.5 (MIT/GDIT) or 6.0 (GCIT). Other accepted tests include TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, and Cambridge C1/C2.
Documents
Prepare Your Application Documents

Gather and certify all required documents before submitting. Incomplete applications will not be assessed and may delay your offer. Documents in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified NAATI translation.

Certified copy of your passport (bio-data page)
Official academic transcripts and certified degree/diploma certificates from all institutions attended
English language proficiency test results (IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, Cambridge C1/C2, or OET)
Statement of Purpose (500–800 words) — your motivation for studying at Amtech and career goals
Current CV or résumé and two reference letters (academic or professional)
Evidence of work experience if applying via the alternative entry pathway
Evidence of financial capacity (recent bank statements or sponsorship letter)
Submit
Submit Your Application

Complete the International Student Application Form and submit it with all supporting documents. You can apply directly via email or through a registered Amtech education agent.

Download the International Student Application Form from the Amtech website or the Policies & Forms page.
Email your completed form and all supporting documents to admissions@amtech.edu.au
A non-refundable application fee of AUD 500 is payable upon submission. Payment details are included on the application form.
Applying through an agent? Your agent will submit on your behalf — ensure they are a registered Amtech representative.
Offer
Receive & Accept Your Letter of Offer

Eligible applicants receive a Letter of Offer (LoO) within 5–10 business days of submitting a complete application. The offer letter details your programme, intake, tuition fees, and any special conditions that must be met prior to enrolment.

Review the offer conditions carefully — you may receive a conditional offer requiring additional evidence (e.g. final transcripts).
Sign and return the Acceptance of Offer form within the timeframe specified in your offer letter.
If you wish to defer your offer to a later intake, contact the admissions team before the acceptance deadline.
Payment & CoE
Pay Tuition Deposit & Receive Your CoE

Once you have accepted your offer, you must pay the initial tuition deposit as specified in your Letter of Offer. Upon receipt of payment, Amtech will issue your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) — a mandatory document for your student visa application.

The deposit amount is outlined in your offer letter and is typically equivalent to one trimester of tuition.
Your CoE will be issued electronically via the PRISMS system within 2–3 business days of payment confirmation.
Keep your CoE safe — you will need to provide the CoE number when lodging your visa application.
Visa
Apply for Your Student Visa (Subclass 500)

With your CoE in hand, you can now lodge your Student Visa (subclass 500) application with the Department of Home Affairs. Ensure you arrange Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) before or at the time of applying for your visa.

OSHC is a mandatory condition of the Student Visa. Amtech can assist you in arranging OSHC — contact the admissions team for details.
Apply for your visa as early as possible — processing times vary by country and demand.
Once your visa is granted, contact Amtech admissions to confirm your arrival and receive your pre-arrival information pack.
