CRICOS Course Code: 120184M · Course Code: MIT · TEQSA Accredited · Face to Face · Spring Hill, Brisbane
The Master of Information Technology (MIT) is Amtech Institute’s flagship postgraduate qualification, designed to prepare graduates for senior technical and leadership roles across Australia’s technology sector. Delivered face-to-face from our Spring Hill campus in Brisbane, the MIT combines rigorous academic foundations with industry-integrated practice.
Spanning two years of full-time study, the program covers 15 units across three developmental stages — from core IT fundamentals through advanced specialist electives to a capstone research project. Students build deep expertise in software engineering, cybersecurity, network architecture, IT project management, and emerging technologies including AI and cloud computing.
Graduates of the MIT are equipped to operate at the highest levels of the technology industry, driving digital transformation, leading complex projects, and shaping IT strategy. The qualification is accredited at AQF Level 9 and recognised by employers throughout Australia and internationally.
The MIT consists of 15 units across 3 levels — 4 stage 1 — core foundations (gcit) units, 4 stage 2 — advanced specialisations (gdit) units, 7 stage 3 — mit advanced studies units.
MIT graduates are equipped for senior IT roles across a wide range of industries. Typical career pathways include:
Lead technology departments, define IT strategy, and oversee digital transformation initiatives at the executive level.
Design and oversee the implementation of complex enterprise IT systems, cloud architectures, and integration platforms.
Architect and build scalable, high-performance software systems. Lead engineering teams and set technical standards.
Design organisation-wide security frameworks, lead incident response, and advise on risk governance and compliance.
Manage end-to-end delivery of complex IT projects using Agile, Scrum, and PRINCE2 methodologies.
Drive organisation-wide digital change, evaluating emerging technologies and building capability for the future.
