Results must be no more than 2 years old at the time of application. Online or home-based test results may be accepted subject to assessment. Academic IELTS is required — General Training is not accepted.

Alternative Pathway — Oxford English Language Placement Test (ELLT)

Under the Institute's Admission Requirements Policy, if an applicant does not hold formal evidence of English proficiency or an equivalent qualification, but there is reasonable evidence to suggest adequate English language ability, the Dean may — at their discretion — permit the applicant to sit the Oxford English Language Placement Test (ELLT). Depending on the outcome, the applicant may be enrolled directly if their result meets the Institute's English Language requirements. For postgraduate study, a minimum ELLT Score of 7 (CEFR B2) is required.

How to Apply

Applications are assessed on a rolling basis. Follow these steps to submit your application and receive your offer letter.

Check Your Eligibility
Review the academic entry requirements for your chosen programme above. Confirm your qualification level (AQF equivalent), GPA, and English language proficiency before applying.

Prepare Your Documents
Gather certified academic transcripts, degree certificates, passport copy, English test results, Statement of Purpose, CV, and two reference letters. Non-English documents must include a certified NAATI translation.

Submit Your Application
Complete the International Student Application Form and email it with all supporting documents to admissions@amtech.edu.au or apply through your education agent.

Receive Your Offer Letter
Eligible applicants will receive a Letter of Offer within 5–10 business days. Review the offer conditions carefully and sign and return the Acceptance of Offer form.

Pay Tuition Deposit & Receive CoE
Pay the required tuition deposit as outlined in your offer letter. Upon receipt, Amtech will issue your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) — required for your student visa application.

Apply for Your Student Visa
Lodge your Student Visa (subclass 500) application with the Department of Home Affairs using your CoE number. Ensure you meet health insurance (OSHC) requirements before applying.

Advanced Standing

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Amtech Institute recognises that students bring valuable prior learning and professional experience. RPL may allow you to reduce your study load and time to completion.

Credit is assessed on a case-by-case basis by the Academic Board. Prior study must be at an equivalent AQF level and completed within the last 10 years.

Submit an RPL Application
Complete the RPL/Credit Transfer form (available on the Policies & Forms page) and attach supporting evidence including transcripts, unit outlines, and work portfolios.

Academic Board Review
Your application is assessed by the Academic Board. Equivalent content, level, and currency of prior learning are all considered. You may be asked to provide additional evidence.

Outcome Notification
You will receive a formal written outcome within 10 business days. Approved credit is reflected in your enrolment and study plan prior to commencement.

Appeal Process
If you disagree with the outcome, you may lodge an appeal within 20 business days in accordance with Amtech's Academic Appeals Policy.
